Bristol Loaf is a small independent artisan baker and café group based in Bristol. When they needed a suitable ventilation for their new site, they appointed BWF to carry out its design, manufacture and installation.

The Design
A well as a conventional canopy and extract system to capture and exhaust a cooking area used by the café, they needed a canopy simply to extract hot air from above the baking ovens.
Instead of exhausting directly to the atmosphere and wasting energy, a controllable valve arrangement has been fitted in the extract duct to allow this uncontaminated warm air to be diverted into the restaurant to provide a low cost and efficient source of heating during winter months.
