The Design
As well as ensuring full DW/172 compliance, the design priorities were to design an externally unobtrusive system at the same time as ensuring a high level of noise and odour control.
The noise from the new plant proposed had to be at least 5 dB(A) less than the background noise level measured to BS4142 requirements. This was achieved by locating the fans internally and close coupling them to high performance attenuators.
